At it again.

This month has absolutely FLOWN by. Didn't the kids just start school, like, yesterday?

I digress ....

Add this poor excuse for a blog to my endless list of things neglected.

Both D and B have settled nicely into school - it's been a bit of a transition having them both gone, but for D it's only for the mornings - then she's home for the afternoons. Grade 1 will be the bigger challenge.

The school has been awesome with her - and that kid has thrown everything at them since starting - lows, highs and everything in between. Each day feels like an accomplishment to make it out of there without scars! I wish I knew what was going on, but this is the first time in a long time I've really, really felt out of control with her diabetes care - and this has been going on for a few months now. They said it would get better the older she got - but I'm finding that to be a big fat pile of horse shit right about now. Or maybe this instability is just finally grinding down on me and I'm heading for "one of those days" soon (you know, the real pity party day when you end up calling the endo cause you feel like you're going insane??). I have those every once in awhile .....

But the kid just keeps on going - and despite the shitty numbers, is having a great time at Kindergarten. That makes my heart swell - because despite how shit her blood sugars are - she's having the time of her life. Those poor farts and the weight they're carrying on their shoulder and don't even know it .... breaks my heart. They should be able to go to school and not have any of those health issues going on. (I suppose it's the parents that are more disturbed by this than anyone else .....)

Anyhow, other than that the kids are full boar back into their activities as well - swimming, dance classes and B's music lessons (violin).

Between staff training (two sessions), running back and forth to the school, hauling kids to the activity of the day and errands to run - my days are full (and the dreaded house upkeep that goes along with it). We seem to have a lot of company coming in to town to stay with us too, so it's been a little crazy. OH, and throw in that back to school snot-nosed cold in there too - can't forget that! I still sound like I smoke 10 pack/day when I cough .....

Over the weekend dh finally broke down and purchased a Wii for the kids for xmas (they went on sale). So now it has to sit in a box in the furnace room for 3 months until the jolly red man appears. So I guess we've officially started the xmas shopping?? Crazy .... but I suppose tomorrow is October, so it's not that bad, is it?

Speaking of which - tomorrow I turn another year older - which is bringing me closer to that big number 4-0. Wish I could still get as excited about birthdays as the kids do. Tomorrow is going to be another busy one, so I think we'll "celebrate" on Friday by going out for supper then (as a family) ... tonight I'm going out for supper with my gf's - which is just fine by me!

I've also decided to try selling Avon for kicks. It's been a bit of a joke so far though as I don't know what the hell I'm doing (and I'm not a huge make up person) but I think it would be kind of fun to do. At least it's something I can do that works around my schedule ...... pending this even works out, I'm still in the beginning stages of it all. *ding dong ... avon lady* OMG!! LOL - that's so awful!
